Your Nexon EV golf cart is built with a lithium-ion battery system, a 5 kW electric motor, and premium custom components. With proper care it will deliver years of reliable, low-maintenance performance. This guide covers everything you need to know to keep your cart running at its best — from daily habits to seasonal storage and troubleshooting. Following these guidelines protects your investment and extends the life of every component.
Charging Best Practices
- Use only the supplied smart charger. Non-approved chargers can damage the battery management system and void your warranty.
- Charge after every use — do not let the battery sit depleted. Lithium batteries prefer frequent partial charges over full discharge cycles.
- Do not charge in extreme temperatures. Charge in temperatures between 32°F and 113°F (0°C – 45°C). Charging outside this range stresses cells and reduces lifespan.
- Do not leave plugged in indefinitely once fully charged. The smart charger manages this automatically, but unplug within 24 hours after a full charge.
- Charge to 100% before long storage periods and maintain above 50% if stored for more than 2 weeks.
Capacity & Range
Your battery is rated for 45–70 miles per charge under normal conditions. Range varies based on load, terrain, speed, temperature, and age. Cold weather (below 40°F) can temporarily reduce range by 15–25% — this is normal and reverses when temperatures rise.
⚠ Battery Warning
If the battery shows signs of swelling, emits unusual odors, or fails to hold a charge after a full charge cycle, stop use immediately and contact Nexon EV. Do not attempt to open or service the battery yourself.
Capacity Retention
Your Nexon EV battery is warranted to retain minimum capacity thresholds over 5 years. Natural gradual degradation is normal — significant sudden capacity loss is not. If capacity drops below the warranty thresholds due to a manufacturing defect, contact Nexon EV to initiate a claim.
- Charging input: 110V–240V, 50/60Hz. Standard household outlet compatible.
- Full charge time: approximately 6–8 hours from a depleted state.
- Keep the charging port clean and dry. Never insert the charger plug with wet hands.
- Inspect the charging cable regularly for cracks, fraying, or damaged connectors. Replace immediately if damaged.
- Do not run the charging cable under rugs or through pinch points.
- Store the charger in a dry location away from direct sunlight when not in use.
✓ Tip
Setting a reminder to charge after every use builds a simple habit that dramatically extends battery life. Lithium batteries degrade faster when left at low state of charge for extended periods.
Tire Pressure
Maintaining correct tire pressure ensures safe handling, even wear, and maximum range efficiency.
| Tire Type | Recommended Pressure | Check Frequency |
| 12" Road Tire | 18–22 PSI | Monthly or before longer trips |
| 13" / 14" Road Tire | 18–22 PSI | Monthly or before longer trips |
| 14" / 15" Off-Road Tire | 12–18 PSI | Monthly — lower pressure for grip on trails |
- Inspect tires monthly for uneven wear, cuts, bulges, or embedded debris.
- Rotate tires every 1,000 miles or annually to promote even wear.
- Check lug nut torque after the first 50 miles of use and then annually. Tighten to 65–80 ft-lbs.
- Replace tires when tread depth falls below 2/32" or if sidewall damage is visible.
- Test brakes at low speed at the start of each use. The cart should stop smoothly within 12 feet at 25 MPH.
- Inspect brake fluid level annually if your model has hydraulic brakes. Use DOT 3 or DOT 4 fluid only.
- Listen for grinding, squealing, or reduced stopping power — these indicate worn brake pads and require immediate attention.
- The electromagnetic brake engages automatically when the accelerator is released. If the cart rolls freely on a slope with the accelerator released, have the brake system inspected.
- Brake pads are a wear item and are not covered under warranty. Inspect every 500 miles or annually.
⚠ Safety
Never operate the cart if brakes feel soft, spongy, or unresponsive. Do not attempt to adjust or repair the brake system yourself — contact Nexon EV or a qualified technician.
The 5 kW brushless electric motor is largely maintenance-free under normal operating conditions. There are no oil changes, spark plugs, or fuel filters to service.
- Do not exceed the rated load capacity of 1,300 lbs. Consistent overloading stresses the motor, drivetrain, and battery and voids the warranty.
- Do not submerge or pressure wash the motor housing. Clean with a damp cloth only.
- Listen for unusual sounds — clicking, grinding, or high-pitched whining during operation — and report to Nexon EV if persistent.
- Inspect the drive belt or chain annually for wear, cracking, or slack if applicable to your model.
- After extended off-road use, inspect the undercarriage for debris, mud buildup, or damaged components.
Body & Carbon Fiber
- Wash the body with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or pressure washers directed at seams and electrical components.
- Apply automotive wax or UV protectant to painted surfaces every 3–6 months, especially in high-UV environments.
- Carbon fiber dashboard and steering wheel — wipe clean with a microfiber cloth and mild interior cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals that can dull the finish.
- Inspect all body panel fasteners annually and tighten if loose.
Seats & Upholstery
- Clean embroidered seats with a gentle upholstery cleaner and soft brush. Do not soak — spot clean only.
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure when parked. Use a cart cover to protect seats and interior from UV fading.
- Inspect seat belt webbing and buckles monthly. Replace if frayed, jammed, or damaged.
Screen & Electronics
- Clean the infotainment screen with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth only. Do not spray liquids directly onto the screen.
- Keep all electrical connectors dry and inspect annually for corrosion or loose connections.
- If Bluetooth pairing is lost, restart the screen via the power button or perform a soft reset by cycling the cart's main power.
LED Lighting
- Inspect LED strips and rail lights monthly for damage, loose mounts, or moisture intrusion.
- LED components are generally not field-serviceable — contact Nexon EV if a full strip fails.
All Nexon EV golf carts meet Low Speed Vehicle (LSV) federal safety standards. However, street legal operation varies by state and municipality. It is the owner's responsibility to comply with all local laws.
Owner Responsibilities
- Registration: Most states require LSVs to be registered with the DMV. Check your state's requirements and register your vehicle promptly after purchase.
- Insurance: Many states require liability insurance for LSVs operated on public roads. Contact your insurance provider about adding your cart to your policy.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required to operate an LSV on public roads in most states.

| Symptom | Likely Cause & Action |
| Cart won't power on |
Check battery charge level — charge fully and retry. Ensure the main power switch is on. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or blown fuse in the fuse box. |
| Reduced range / battery drains faster than usual |
Normal in cold weather. Check tire pressure — underinflated tires increase rolling resistance. Reduce load. If persistent in normal temperatures, contact Nexon EV — may indicate battery degradation. |
| Charger won't start charging |
Ensure outlet is live. Check charging port for moisture or debris — clean and dry thoroughly. Inspect cable for damage. Try a different outlet. If charger light does not illuminate, charger may need replacement. |
| Screen not powering on |
Cycle the main cart power off and on. Check all wiring connections behind the dashboard are seated. If screen remains dark after a full charge, contact Nexon EV. |
| Unusual noise from motor or drivetrain |
Clicking or grinding at low speed may indicate debris in the drivetrain. Inspect undercarriage. A high-pitched whine under load may indicate motor strain — reduce load and avoid steep inclines. Contact Nexon EV if persistent. |
| Brakes feel soft or spongy |
Stop use immediately. Check brake fluid level if applicable. Do not operate until inspected by a qualified technician. Contact Nexon EV. |
| Cart pulls to one side |
Check tire pressure on both sides — uneven pressure is the most common cause. If pressure is equal, inspect for a flat or damaged tire. If persistent, have alignment and suspension checked. |
| Bluetooth / screen connectivity issues |
Restart the infotainment system by holding the power button for 5 seconds. Re-pair your device via Bluetooth settings. If startup logo does not appear, perform a full power cycle by turning the cart off, waiting 30 seconds, and restarting. |
| LED lights not working |
Check the LED controller switch or remote if equipped. Inspect wiring connections at the affected strip. If an entire section is out, a connector may have come loose — reseat before assuming failure. |
| Cart moves slowly or loses power under load |
Check battery charge level — below 20% will trigger power reduction. Reduce passenger or cargo load. In hot weather, the battery management system may throttle power to protect cells — allow to cool before resuming. |
